There is a lot involved in an online marketing plan. A good place to start is first making sure your site is submitted to the major search engines. Then find top resources used by your target market and try to get a link to your site posted there. You want to appear to the search engines as an expert in the topic of your book, so that you get a top rank.

Another alternative is to pay for advertising and get a marketing company to run a campaign for you. In this scenario you choose the keywords & topics and then pay for traffic and optimization managed by the marketing company.

Best of luck with your book & consulting business!

There are security risks involved with the backup process specifically and data storage in general. No matter what your backup process is there is a risk of that data being stolen and security needs to be a consideration. In my ITBASE strategy for company technology (S stands for Security), so it is part of the equation to having a solid technical environment to grow and maintain a business. I realize that offsite backup isn't for everyone and some people just may not be comfortable with it. There are many other choices for backup and I would work with anyone who is unsure or worried to find the backup solution that makes the most sense for them.

To answer your second question. Yes, backup software allows you to use rulesets to discover important data to backup regardless of where you decide to place it. You can enable default rulesets or have a computer professional write additional rules as they apply to your business.

That last statement is very true Jason... "Think of it as a promotional journal, reflecting on the past and future success of your company."<br /><br />
Now tie that eJournal into a custom Blog site and reap the rewards the internet has to offer. Namely archiving, feedback systems, eCommunity services & real-time tracking.<br /><br />
Its so sweet and the implementation is not as expensive as most people believe it to be :)

Keeping your customers and prospects informed is an important part of business development. I find it difficult to find the time to stay in touch with all of my customers, prospects, and partners individually. A regular newsletter allows me the opportunity to stay in touch with all of these individuals. It also allows me the secondary benefit of staying in touch with my own business's progress and products. Often I get caught up in sales, customer service and delivery, so writing a newsletter gives me the opportunity to reflect on my company and industry. Think of it as a promotional journal, reflecting on the past and future success of your company.

I understand the security benefits of having your data backed-up offsite. Are there any security risks associated with the process? Also, can the backup process be automated to search for new/updated files in specific folders?
