There is a lot involved in an online marketing plan. A good place to start is first making sure your site is submitted to the major search engines. Then find top resources used by your target market and try to get a link to your site posted there. You want to appear to the search engines as an expert in the topic of your book, so that you get a top rank.
Another alternative is to pay for advertising and get a marketing company to run a campaign for you. In this scenario you choose the keywords & topics and then pay for traffic and optimization managed by the marketing company.
